Never Alone

Deuteronomy 31:6 tells us, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you" (NIV)

Long before you were born, God already knew everything about you. He knew where you were going to live, who your parents were going to be, what your personality was going to be like-everything. Since the day we were born, He has never left our side. He was there watching us take our first steps, there when we made out first friend, and there during all the fun and sad times. He was also there when we felt the loneliest, whispering, "I'm here. Right here. I've never left your side.

We may feel alone, but we're never really alone. God has always been there and wants you to realize that you aren't alone. You're being protected and watched over 24/7. In our darkest moments God can calm the storm and (if we're listening) we can hear Him say, " I am here my child, keep your eyes on me."

When we feel alone, a great way to remind our souls that God is still there with us is to talk to Him, read some Scripture, do whatever brings you closer to Him. You'll begin to feel God there loving you and watching over you wherever you are.

Until next time..

Wear It's At: The Beach!

Hello there, in today's blog post I will be giving you tips on how to dress fashionably and comfortably for the beach, pool, lake, etc.!

Tip #1) Simple can Mean Stylish Too.

If you're going swimming and plan on wearing an outfit over your swimsuit this tip is for you! The outfit over your swimsuit doesn't need to look refined (you'll probably only wear it for a short time then take it off later). In my opinion, simple outfits look best. A really nice, put-together outfit doesn't really coordinate well with a swimsuit, but don't get discouraged yet because simple can mean stylish too. What I mean by that is dressing simple doesn't exactly mean boring and plain all the time. Simple in this case means you should dress with style, but don't overdo it. A solid colored shirt (a color that says "Beach, here I come!"), shorts (I prefer neutral colored ones), some sandals or flip flops that compliment your look, and boom! You've accomplished a very simple, but cute outfit for the beach! I would add a very small piece of jewelry to my outfit to complete the look. I just can't help it,  j'adore les bijoux ! (I love jewelry- My French is improving😉)

Tip #2) #BBB - Big, Beautiful, Bag.

Bringing a bag to the beach (a big, beautiful, one at that) is a great idea! When you have sunglasses, sunscreen, flip flops, clothes, a towel, many other necessities and extras, a bag will come in handy. Make sure your bag is a suitable size, nice quality (to hold all that stuff you're trying to carry), and compliments your outfit (of course). I added beautiful in BBB because 1) having a pretty bag you like just makes things better, and 2) I really wanted there to be three B's :)

Tip #3) Maxi Skirts.

Maxi skirts are one of the many trends this summer! I enjoy pairing them with flat sandals, flip flops, and floppy hats. Maxi skirts are probably one my my favorite ways to wear a skirt. They're long (being modest is always in), and there are so many beach outfits I could create with them! They're not hard to style. I advise that you find a great way to style a maxi dress and wear it the next time you go to the beach!

Tip #4)  #TwiningWithTheBeach.🌊🌴

I totally recommend having a twining day with the beach! What I mean is, you should try putting together a beach-colored coordinated outfit. Lets say the beach you're headed to right now has beautiful white sand and tons of palm trees. A white top, light army green shorts (the shade you should wear depends on the color green the palm tree has), white sandals, dainty beach-themed bracelet, and a BBB (big, beautiful, bag) to finish your look! Another good outfit idea would be a blue top that compliments the ocean, a white maxi dress, a tan scarf (worn as a headband), tan sandals or flip flops, beach-themed ankle bracelet, and a patterned or printed BBB.

Tip #5) Ready to Reach the Beach.

Never hold back on being yourself and owning your style! Never let other people dress you, always dress yourself. When you let other people decide what you wear it, takes some of the joy out of dressing up. Another thing to remember is not to be concerned about your outfit. Yes, dressing up for the beach is so much fun, but if you can't find anything to wear don't get upset. It's more than ok to just throw some clothes on and be done because in the end all that really matters is 1) Having fun at the beach and 2) God knows you're an amazing, beautiful princess no matter what you're wearing. Now that you've read all my tips, you're finally ready to reach the beach!

White On Sight! ~ Lets Style: White

Hey there! Today I'm doing a (short) post on how to style the color white! This is the first post of another series I'm starting called Lets Style! The posts that belong to this series are meant to be shorter than my other fashion related blog posts. So if you ever need a few really quick tips on how to style things like colors, bags, different types of dresses, etc. you know where to find 'em!

Small History Lesson (on the color white):

White became a very fashionable color in the 18th century. Many upper class men around that time wore snow white stockings and wigs, and upper class women wore beautiful embroidered gowns and their nicest pastel dresses. As far as I know, that's when white really became a fashionable thing to wear.

                                            How to Style:

As I just mentioned white has been around for a very long time. Over the years we've seen a lot of things done with this popular color, and it's been styled in both simple and complex ways. From my knowledge of fashion, and my personal opinion, white and other neutral colors are on my list of some of the easiest colors to style. White goes with almost everything, so to make this post simple and small like I planned. Here are a few ways I like to style white and outfit ideas:

White/Neutral & White/jewelry: White on white and white on other neutral colors just looks so chic and simple. Adding dainty jewelry, small fake diamonds and fake pearls (unless you can afford real ones) with neutral colors make the outfit look more elegant.

White/Patterned & White/printed: White paired with printed or patterned clothing is something I love seeing. My favorite combinations are soft floral prints, small polka dots, thin stripes-the simple looking stuff.

In my opinion, while wearing white you can make it look however you want! My favorite white looks are elegant, crisp, soft, and chic ones.

-Outfits I made up:

Glamour Gal -White pants, beige blouse, tiny pearl earrings, dainty layered necklace, black sunglasses, tan flats.

Cute sunny day - Floppy tan sun hat, jean shorts, white off-the-shoulder, small earrings, black cat eye sunglasses, small soft grey bag you can carry on your shoulder.

Miss Chanel-White pleated skirt, soft pink top, soft pink flats, scarf headband with pearls, name brand earrings and matching necklace, pink quilted Chanel bag with a chain handle.

Comfy Chic -  Jeans, beige cardigan, white tank top blouse, beige heels, dainty necklace, charm bracelet, cute black bag.

Summer Time Stylin' -White maxi dress, brown sandals, straw tote bag, first initial necklace, white sun glasses, thin dark brown belt.

                                                        -White Outfit Inspiration:

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, if you have any suggestions kindly write them in the comment section! I'll definitely be making more posts like this one and getting better at writing them. Look out for more style tips on some of my other posts about the color white if you want to know more! Until next time...

I'm not pretty

"Don't be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." - 1 Peter 3:3-4

This week I feel like God redirected my focus after getting distracted (for what's felt like the millionth time) by what the world has to offer. He told me that it doesn't matter what our culture says the ideal girl or boy should look like, it only matters what He thinks. My problem with hearing that again is that I've heard it so many times it has become numb to my mind. After a week of digging deeper into it, God opened my eyes again to how much I'm worth to Him.

I've been hearing about how God feels about me, but I haven't actually been listening to it.
Instead of agreeing with what the Devil has to say about what I see in the mirror and letting it get the best of me, I have to start actually listening when Jesus tells me I'm enough and not shut Him out. I have to deny the lies, even if most of my morning consists of me standing in the mirror trying to feed myself truth. It'll be way better than spending tons of time in the mirror trying to fix the way I look.

Beauty is an amazing gift from God that should be enjoyed, and no amount of beauty or compliments can replace the fulfillment you find in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Reminding yourself of truth when you find yourself getting distracted is very important! I pray that if you struggle with this too that you'll start to remind yourself of your worth and deny the lies. Try writing a Bible verse on your mirror or writing truth on a sticky note and sticking it some place you look at often. Don't stop searching for truth either, constantly talk to God and learn from Him.

I am not pretty.

I am marvelous.

I am loved by the one who created the galaxy and filled the oceans. The one who created the mountains and the tallest trees cherishes me. I am a prized possession of the same God who created every flower,  who sends rain and lightning down to earth and colors every sunset. He has blessed me with the gift to sew and be friendly. He has given me much creativity and an amazing family. He has given me a beautiful cause and has chosen me and given me the ability to chose love.

So when you look at me remember, I am not pretty.      I am marvelous.

*that was a little something I wrote in my journal a really long time ago but forgot about   *

Wear It's At: Day-To-Day

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having amazing days! Today I'm sharing with you the first post of a new series I'm starting called "wear it's at!" This series will involve styling tips and my advice on what to wear depending on where you're going or what you plan on doing. In this blog post, I will be giving you advice on how to be stylish when dressing for nothing specific, just daily life!

Tip#1) Wear what YOU want to wear, don't dress to impress anyone! (except yourself)

This tip goes for dressing for any occasion! Never ever wear something that you don't like or wear just to impress someone (unless it's for a good reason like dressing to impress for a job interview or something). Being truly stylish starts when you begin to be yourself and wear what you want to wear. Also, dressing to impress people (and just trying to impress anyone altogether) is totally overrated anyway. It only matters what God thinks of you and in His eyes you're worth more than 100,000,000 pounds of the most rare diamonds on earth!!

Tip #2) Wear something comfortable.

When I say wear something comfortable, I don't mean throw on some sweatpants and a T-shirt (although it's totally up to you if that's what you want to wear). What I mean is don't dress in a way that makes you uncomfortable. If wearing dresses and high heels everyday makes you uncomfortable, then do your best to switch it up a little. Try wearing cute flats instead of high heels, and some days it's more than okay to throw on a t-shirt and some jeans! Part of mastering day-to-day style is being comfortable in what you're wearing. You'll feel a lot better than you would if you were wearing something you didn't like or something uncomfortable, and you will able to get a lot more done!

Tip#3) Accessories are a girl's best friend!

(Really it's 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend,' but I'm changing it up a bit). Pretty necklaces, bracelets, headbands, earrings, a scarf, small handbags, and other accessories can take your day-to-day outfit from gross to glamorous and trashy to trendy! First initial necklaces, hair jewels, charm bracelets, galaxy-themed jewelry, and floral-themed jewelry are all very popular right now. If you want to know more about the latest trends, go read my blog post from the 14th. Accessories have their own special way of making every outfit complete and unique. They're one of my favorite things to put on whenever my outfit is looking a little crummy.

Tip#4) Neutral colors.

White, black, cream, brown, and other neutral colors are always a good choice and fairly easy to work with. I like the idea of wearing all black, or wearing a cream top, white pants, and shoes that  compliment your outfit. These colors make your outfit look simple, but stylish. A neutral-based outfit has never failed me! You could also pair them with patterned and printed clothing items like floral prints, stripes, etc.

Tip#5) Get creative and try new things!

Get unique with your outfits and try lots and lots of new things!! Never worn a skirt with sneakers before? Go for it! Your style won't improve unless you try new things and start thinking creatively!

I know I didn't say many things about daily style (be on the lookout for a part 2), but I guarantee you that you can do great things with the tips I've left you today! Thank you for reading this post. Be on the lookout for more posts on the series "Wear it's At." Subscribe to my blog and you can read my new blog posts when they come out. And until next time...

Fix My Eyes ~ 2 Corinthians 4:18

2 Corinthians 4:18 tells us, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal." I choose to share this verse today because the majority of us tend to focus so much more on our outside appearance than what actually matters- our inside appearance.

I'm definitely guilty of this. I'm almost always finding myself trying to fix something outwardly, whether that be the way I look, the way I do something, or the way I present myself to the world. This verse mentions that we shouldn't fix our eyes on what is seen because its temporary. It'll be gone before you know it.

For example, at the beginning of 7th grade I was at a new school, and before the first day I told myself exactly who I was going to be and what I was going to be doing. It sounded a little something like: "I'm going to be well liked, in a huge friend group, make good grades, and look pretty doing it."
You want to know how that plan turned out? Awful. I had no friends, I was the most insecure about myself I'd ever been, and people talked about me a lot. One of the only good things was that I did make good grades. People had talked about me before at different schools behind my back, but I didn't really care. Now that my image was something I was working 24/7 on and wanting nothing more than for people to like it, I cared about it too much.  Me focusing on what is seen left me very broken.

Instead I should've been working on what is unseen, working on being a light in the darkness, not trying to impress, encourage, and be a part of the darkness!

Even though the beginning of 7th grade wasn't great, during the middle of the year I had to switch schools. By this time I didn't even have a plan, I'd kinda just given up. Who cares anyway? If I isolate myself, people can't talk about me or judge me because nobody is going to notice me. That wasn't a great plan either, but the rest of seventh grade ended better than how it started.

I've been trying to work a lot on what is unseen. Even though 7th grade wasn't a good year for me, I'm so glad it happened because now I can say from experience that focusing on what is seen is very pointless and it hurts you.

Focusing on what is unseen is everlasting. It's life to me.

I still struggle with focusing on my seen features, but spending time with the Lord and trapping His words in my heart is helping me grow. Ask God to fix your eyes. Let the Lord speak to you today and listen to Him; trap His words in your heart and let it become life to you.
Until next time,

10 Summer 2019 Trends you HAVE to try!!

Summer is my favorite time of the year!! It's hot outside, my birthday is coming around,  vacations, more time to spend with The Lord (my favorite), and (my second favorite) scoping out the latest fashion trends!Today I decided to share 10 trends going on this summer (there are way more than 10, but I'm just going to share my favorite ones).

1) Straw Bags

You might've seen these around, maybe on social media or out and about. Some people call them basket weave bags or straw bags. I'm unsure of their actual name, but for now I'm calling them straw bags. These bags are so so so adorable, I must say-I'm in love, and I want one! They come in very different sizes, shapes, and looks so it might be a little difficult  to find one that compliments your outfit. I suggest when you go out to buy one, find a bag you like and ask yourself, 'Do I have an outfit that would pair nicely with this bag?' 'What could I wear with this?' Asking yourself these things will really come in handy when doing any shopping! Another thing about these bags is they can match a lot of stuff which is a good thing because that makes pairing them easier! Overall, I think they're awesome and I'm going to enjoy seeing what people do with these bags this summer!
Where can you find these bags?:

 2) Off-the-Shoulder Tops

I'm not a huge fan of wearing off-the-shoulder tops because I don't really like showing my shoulders. It makes me feel uncomfortable, but these shirts are super cute anyway! They've been so so popular recently! Apart from the fact that I don't enjoy wearing them, I added them to my list because like I just mentioned they're really cute and great for when it gets super hot! Is it  awfully hot where you are but you're sick of wearing t-shirts and you just want to look cute? Try throwing on one of these cute tops, denim shorts or skirt, and some platform sandals (and why not add a straw bag while you're at it?)!
Where can you find these tops (I added a link to a cute pair of platform sandals I  found)?:

3)The Color Yellow

I love yellow, I'm so happy it's trending this summer! In my opinion, yellow is the official color of summer, and fun but aside from that it can be hard to wear sometimes. I'm stressing the word sometimes because I don't want you to put too much thought into trying to wear yellow the correct way. It's just you need to be careful about how you wear it. Yellow comes in many shades (all of them are gorgeous), but we all need to find a shade that matches us. One that matches how we feel, how we want to look, and most importantly try to find a yellow that compliments your skin tone. When going out and buying yellow items, try putting them up to you to see if they could work.

4) White Blouses

These white blouses are très chic and they've been showing themselves everywhere so far this summer! You can pair them with skirts, jeans, pants, and shorts. White blouses look great with jewelry, but make sure not to overdo it! A simple pair of earrings and a simple necklace usually does the trick, but if you're like me and you just love to wear jewelry you could add a dainty bracelet. You can wear them formally to an event or casually just going about your day.

Where can you find these blouses?:

                                                            5) Wide-Legged Pants

Wide-legged pants are very stylish, and they definitely make your outfit stand out (in the best of ways)! They come in many different styles and colors! You can find some in black, floral, stripes, etc. (you name it!). I think these look best with heels, sandals (they would look super cute with those platform sandals I was talking about earlier), and sneakers. Wide-legged pants also look best with simple tops because the pants already make your outfit stand out, but honestly it all depends on who you are as a person and what your taste in style is like.

Where can you find some cute wide-legged pants?:

6) Little Shoulder Bags:

Little shoulder bags like this one have always been charming and popular! This summer wherever you go (as long as you don't have too much you need to carry in your purse) you should take a small shoulder bag with you. Depending on what you're wearing (of course) you can do a lot with these bags! Get a patterned one and add it to a simple outfit to spice things up, or you get a neutral colored bag and keep it chic! Whatever your plans are for your own little shoulder bag, trust me when I say it'll be a great add-on to your outfit!!

                                                            7) The Color Lavender

Lavender is one of my favorite colors because it goes very well with summertime! I think this color looks great with yellow, coral, and neutral colors. Some dainty jewelry would be a great idea if you wanted to add something little to complete your lavender-based outfit! If you like bigger, bolder jewelry (I'm not a fan) you could probably add big complementary earrings or an oversized necklace (One of those things would probably be enough).

                      8) Bermuda Shorts
I own a fair amount of Bermuda shorts (especially denim ones), and I love wearing them during the summer!! These shorts would look great with an off the shoulder-top, or maybe even a white blouse. I wouldn't wear too much jewelry while wearing these, but since I just love wearing jewelry I would add something very small.Sandals and sneakers go very well with these shorts. I love my denim Bermuda shorts, but I think this summer I'm going to try some neutral colored ones!

Where can you find these Bermuda shorts(on the right)?

                                                         9) Puff Shoulder

These puff shoulder tops are too cute!! I don't have any tops like this, but I definitely need to get some! These tops will add a fun flair to your outfit and can be worn formally or just casually (I love clothing like that). Honestly you could probably get away with wearing a lot with puff shoulder tops such as pants, shorts, skirts, heels, sandals, sneakers, etc. What you choose to wear is totally up to you, rock your own style!

                                                                    10) Tie Dye

Tie dye is one of the more unique trends of Summer, 2019. However, I didn't expect to see it very often. If I end up trying out tie dye clothing this summer, I know I'm going to keep it simple like a tie dye t-shirt or a cute dress (as seen in these two photos). There isn't a whole lot of what you should and shouldn't wear that I have in mind when it comes to this. Just try anything and see if it works for you. I don't have much to say about this trend, but I picked it to be on my 10 because I thought it was fun and cool!

Psalm 143:8 ~ God's unfailing love for us!

Hello everyone! Today I want to share Psalm 143:8 with you because it has been one of my favorite verses this week! It says: "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have but my trust in you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you." I find that so so encouraging because it reminds me to thank God for another day and place my trust in Him, no matter what happens. I know I can place my trust in Him today because He woke me up this morning and like the beginning of the verse says "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love"... and the fact that He woke me up reminds me of how much He loves me. Everyday is another chance God has given us. If God loves us so much to give us day after day, chance after chance, don't you think we can trust Him? Similar to the way we trust the ones we love like our moms, dads, and friends, we can also trust God. In fact, we should trust Him way more than we trust anyone else! He loves us more than anyone ever could, He has never failed us, and He never will. Your sister may not be able to keep a promise, and your friends aren't always going to love you through every high and low the way God does.

So whoever is reading this today, I have a challenge for you. I need you to go through the rest of your day knowing God's love is never ending, unfailing, and it's enough. It's all you'll ever need. Ask God to show you where to walk, and do your best to give yourself to Him. When you wake up tomorrow morning remember Psalm 143:8.

 Until next time,

Jesus loves you sooo much!! - ArissaDenae

Once again I do not take any credit for anything seen in the photos including the photos themselves!

The first look I'd like to talk about is this silk emerald dress paired with a bag and matching accessories. The design of the dress is very simple, but still elegant looking. I've seen a lot of dresses like this one on the runway this week (Who doesn't love new trends??). As lovely as the look of this dress is, I'm guessing the trend won't last long because fashion changes everyday! Although now that I think about it, this dress style has been around for what seems like forever, but it's popularity scale keeps changing. The dress has a high neck, cuff sleeves, and falls beautifully from the waist down to the model's ankles.
The blue purse has glitter, a gold chain handle, and Kate Spade's signature Spade symbol topped with a heart. The dress, the bag, and the jewelry all go perfectly well together, and I don't think I'd change a thing about it!

Is it just me or is anyone else loving the grey faux fur paired with that pretty lavender purple? This look has a long purple dress with a pretty collar (I'm unsure of the name of the collar), a long faux fur coat that has a matching bag, glittery grey boots, and matching headband. This look is my second favorite because of Kate Spade's use of glitter and faux fur! Some may say they're pretty hard to pair, but Kate Spade does it like it is nothing! The Kate Spade team made them look very élégant together. Color and fabric choice is very, very important in the fashion industry. Kate Spade knows how to make anything work, this whole collection is just full of fabric and colors that go parfait together!

This look has a colorfully patterned dress, a glittery baby pink bag, and glittery pink boots. The dress is my favorite part of this look because of its pattern. The pattern is colorful, but it manages to stay within the collections' color scheme very well. The baby pink was a good choice of color, it makes the bag pop! This look has to be another one of my favorites!

This look has a long coat, faux fur bag with a gold chain handle, navy pants that flair a little at the bottom, a grey turtleneck top, and a sparkly grey headband. The long coat and flared navy pants are what make this look unique to the collection, and I'm showing this for that reason. It looks like something that could be worn as a street-style fit, or as an outfit to wear on holiday. In my opinion, this look was an amazing add-on to the collection!

The last look I decided to review from this collection includes a light lavender dress with a V neck and cuff sleeves, a grey alligator bag with a silver chain handle, glittery grey boots, and a glittery grey headband. I chose this dress because of its pattern and style. I love the way the pattern and the tie in the middle go together. It just fits! That's another one of the things I love about Kate Spade's collections, they just make things that you don't usually see together work perfectly, and they don't hesitate to take a leap of faith when designing.

That is all for my Kate Spade New York Resort 2020 collection review! I'm sorry I only did 5/20 looks, but if you want to see the rest of them go to the click I put in the disclaimer. If I made an incorrect statement please forgive me because this is my first time making a fashion collection review, I will get better at it! Other than that I hope you enjoyed reading this, again I don't take credit for anything except for the fact that I wrote this post myself.
Until next time.
